Bingo Strategies & Probabilities

There are several myths associated with Bingo, but none is probably more pervasive than the belief that it's all about chance and luck. That's not quite true, because whether you are a new player or a vet, there are several ways that you can heighten your odds of winning.

The first Bingo strategy you can use is as often as possible, to play online. Why? Because there is the auto daub feature. It is not uncommon for new players to miss out marking a number that is actually there, especially if he/she has a lot of cards, or is engaged in a conversation. With the automated feature, you're guaranteed to never miss a number.

The second thing you can do is to play as many cards as you can afford. The advantage of this Bingo strategy is that you'll have the opportunity to win, if not the jackpot, some of the other prizes. Rare is the event that doesn't give away different sets of prizes, so the more cards you have, the more likely you won't go home empty handed.

Before you play online Bingo, check out the number of players participating. The fewer there are, the greater your odds of winning.

When it comes to selecting cards, there are two types of Bingo strategy you can use. The first is to select those that have as many similar numbers as possible. According to this approach, you'll increase your odds of hitting the number called. The opposite of this approach is choosing those cards that contain as diverse combinations. The reasoning being that if most of those cards contain 3s and it's not called, most of your cards will be at risk of not hitting.

Finally, a little knowledge of the probabilities will not hurt. Of course, the different patterns used in Bingo games raises different odds, but among the most frequently used are the cover all, single line and four corners.

Some Bingo probabilities include the following: after 20 calls, there is a 2% of a player getting a single line complete, and 0.3% getting the four corners; 30 calls, 14% (single line), 2% (four corners), 40 calls (44%, single line, 7% four corners), 50 calls (81% single line and 18% four corners).

Anyone can play Bingo, but to win, you need skill and also use some strategies. Insights into the numbers involved, as well as the different tactics employed, can spell a big difference.
